Hort Show 2022 Pt 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. Folks for the tree fruit industry will be gathering few short weeks in Wenatchee for the 2022 WSTFA Annual Meeting and Hort Expo. This year’s Chairman for the meeting, Manson Grower’s GM, Jared England says it’s right around the corner …
ENGLAND … “Yeah, it’s coming up quick. It’s a great time of year. It’s after harvest for most everybody and so it’s a good time for everyone to focus on what went well for the year and what our opportunities, a lot of the prep, a lot of it is done during harvest so we appreciate all those who are preparing for the show, that are participated in the lining up speakers and everyone who wants to help make this year’s show a success.”
Much of that, England says will focus on industry challenges …
ENGLAND … “The last several years have introduced many challenges to our industry whether it’s environmental, political, regulatory, labor, the list goes on and on. And so, this is really our best way to react and overcome these challenges is to do it together as an industry.”
England says the focus will be broad …
ENGLAND … “I think a little bit of everything. You know, when you talk to individual growers or warehouses, they all have their kind of unique challenges. So, we hope to provide the platform for them to all come together and start that conversation. That’s really the beauty of reaching out to others.”
Tune in tomorrow for more on this year’s Hort Show … December 5-6-7 in Wenatchee.
