Wander Walla Walla Pt 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. Autumn is here and if you love wine, ‘Wander Walla Walla’ might be the weekend adventure for you.Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance’s new Executive Director, Liz Knapke (K’nap-kee) says the valley is beautiful this time of year and there’s a couple of ways to make the most of your journey …
KNAPKE … “One is our official wine guide that we launched at the beginning of the calendar year. So, we’ll get into that process as well as our ‘Wander’ campaign which is our fall marketing campaign where winemakers submit itineraries.
Knapke says the different itineraries could really help …
KNAPKE … “So, if they were to traverse the valley for a day, what would they do, where would dine, where would they taste wine, what activities would they embark upon to really curate these high-quality itineraries so then consumers can access those online and Wander kind of live like the locals would throughout the months of October, November and December.”
Knapke says it’s great for the rookies OR for those familiar with Walla Walla’s wine scene …
KNAPKE … “What’s exciting about it too is that the pending businesses still being around and those types of things, they live in perpetuity. So, we can share Wander itineraries. Obviously, we highlight the ones that are new to the valley this year, but if you had a favorite winemaker, there’s some recommendations on the Wander website from them.”
