WWVWA New Leadership Pt 2
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with today’s Fruit Grower Report. As the new Executive Director of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance, Liz Knapke (kin-AP-key) is taking over as the Walla Walla Valley is named America’s Best Wine Region in the USA Today 10-Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the third consecutive year. Her new duties, Knapke says include building on that reputation …
KNAPKE … “You know, one of the things that we’re really focusing on here is maintaining and upholding the cultural distinction of the Walla Walla Valley.”
And much of that, Knapke says involves effective communications …
KNAPKE … “We grow so many wines here. We produce so many wines here. And, quality really is that through line. So, making sure we communicate about the community that exists here of makers, of growers, of people that come to the Walla Walla Valley to learn, honor the craft of winemaking and push the boundaries of what’s possible.”
And that development, Knapke says doesn’t appear to be slowing down …
KNAPKE … “It’s something that we not only continue to build on, but the bars been set. So, it is something that we embrace and that is part of what we want to share with the rest of the world is the quality of wine being produced here and the quality of people.”
The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance is a nonprofit industry membership organization focused on building an internationally acclaimed wine brand by executing marketing programs with member wineries, vineyards, and partners.
