Cattle Market Holds Steady

This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Tuesday. The Feeder Cattle Market gave back some of Friday’s gains but holding steady despite higher feed costs. Here’s Virginia MgCathey with the CME Group to explain more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. closed the day Dn 4 ¾, to finish at 8-17 ¾. Dec Corn was Dn 14, to finish the day at 6-28 ¼. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. were Dn 7 ½, to settle at 8-85.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 8-80 to 9-50. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Oct. were Unch, ranging from 8-72 to 9-02. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Oct. were Dn 7 ½, ranging from 9-95 to 10-00. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Oct. were Dn 9 ½, ranging from 9-92 ½ to 10-12 ½.

Live Cattle for Oct. were Dn $.70, closing at 143.80. Sept. Feeder Cattle were Dn $.37 ½ to finish the day at 183.00 . Sept. Class III milk was Up $.55 to settle at 20.35.
