The 2022 Irrigation Issues Report from an imaging company, a precision agriculture data provider, is now available.

As a follow up to their inaugural 2021 report, this year’s report further analyzed data from 350,000 acres of specialty crops across California to quantify the extent and impact of drip irrigation issues. Our latest report includes analysis of trends in irrigation efficiency, as well as new statistics on crop uniformity.

This report used aerial imagery to quantify the extent and impact of irrigation issues across a vast geography. For a 1,000-acre grower, the study finds an average of 29.5 major irrigation issues per season, with an average issue size of 7 acres.

These findings show there is significant opportunity for growers to increase farm profits and conserve water by quickly detecting and correcting common issues like plugs, leaks, and pressure issues.
