Betty Peterson is Executive Asst. to Randy Hopkins, who, with his wife Jo, runs a non-profit One-by-One Foundation with three overall goals….healing minds, hearts and spirits. It started… back in 2007. Randy's wife, Jo, went to Ghana, Africa, on a mission, fell in love with these orphans. They have supported 23 of them for the last 15 years or so. These kids never would have had a chance. They come from horrible, sad, sad stories. They have a ten acre property a couple of years ago, built a barn and got ten farm animals. I am contacting therapists, reaching out to the mental health community, letting them know we're here. We have these animals to be used for animal assisted therapy, similar to equine therapy with horses. It's been really well received. Therapists. Their feedback is that it's a huge need and they're excited about it. I have some regular clients that come. The animals are amazing and I've seen them work wonders with people that have struggles in life and it could be anything from special needs to recovery. We've had recovery groups come out from alcohol and drug abuse. We've had kids that are struggling with depression, whatever their struggles are. Speaker1: Again, the one by one foundation that Betty says have similar healing models all over the country, Google Care Farms.
