Beef Surge Into the 4th!
This is Matt Rice with the Ag Information Network and today’s Market Line Report for Tuesday. Increased export sales gave the beef market a much needed boost as prices surged as markets came to a close last week. Let’s go to Virginia McGathey with the CME Group to hear more.Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. closed the day Dn 38, to finish at 8-46. Sept. Corn was Dn 9, to finish the day at 6-19 ¾. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. were Dn 38 ¼, to settle at 9-13 ½.
Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Dn 10-Unch, ranging from 10-00 to 10-60. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Sept. were Dn 50-Unch, ranging from 9-50 to 10-50. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Sept. were Dn 38 ¼, ranging from 9-98 ½ to 10-28 ½. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Sept. were Dn 42, ranging from 10-08 to 10-43.
Live Cattle for Aug were Up $2.02 ½, closing at 134.60. Aug Feeder Cattle were Up $.90 to finish the day at 174.50. Aug Class III milk was Dn $.40 to settle at 22.42.
