Grain Market Uncertainty Remains Key Factor

This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Friday. Uncertainty remains the biggest factor in the Wheat market, with Ukrain’s grain forecasted harvest to be down 50-60%. Here’s Terry Roggensack with the CME Group to share more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for May closed the day dn 20, to finish at 10-85 ¾. May Corn was dn 9 ½, to finish the day at 7-48 ¼. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for May were dn 16 ½, to settle at 10-95.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 11-80 to 13-30. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for June was Unch, ranging from 11-50 to 11-80. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for June were dn 15 ¼, ranging from 11-90 ¼ to 12-00 ¼. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for June were dn 5 ½, ranging from 11-29 ¼ to 11-59 ¼.

Live Cattle for June were up $.97 ½, closing at 136.95. May Feeder Cattle were up $.70 to finish the day at 166.50. May Class III milk was up $.18 to settle at 25.27.
