Projects are always better if somebody else is financing them, am I right? Well, the American Farm Bureau Federation in partnership with Farm Credit is looking to reward $165,000 in startup funds to 10 businesses.

Take me to Puerto Rico! I know, you probably think I’ve fallen off my rocker. We’ll get there.

We are talking today about the 2023 Farm Bureau Ag Innovation Challenge. This is a national business competition put on by the Farm Bureau with financial help from Farm Credit.

They give away $165,000 in startup funds through the course of the competition. And it is going to culminate in the top 10 semifinalists competing in a live pitch competition in front of Farm Bureau members, investors, and industry representatives.

They are doing this at the American Farm Bureau Convention in January. This is where it calls back. Puerto Rico - San Juan, Puerto Rico to be exact - is where that convention is going to be held next year.

Now, this is for businesses that are developing innovative solutions to challenges faced by America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. According to American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall, he says that “innovation is at the heart of everything farmers and ranchers do.” They are taking applications through April 29. Contact your local Farm Bureau or visit FB.org for details.
