Cattle Market Recovers, Grains Limit Rally

This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Monday. Cattle rebound, recovering some losses from earlier last week but grains ultimately calling the shots. Let’s go to Virginia McGathey with the CME Group to find out more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for May closed the day up 19 ½, to finish at 11-06 ½. May Corn was up 6 ¾, to finish the day at 7-62 ½. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for May were up 23 ½, to settle at 10-89 ¼.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 11-80 to 13-30. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for May were UNCH, ranging from 11-29 to 11-84. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for June were up 26 ¾, ranging from 11-81 to 11-91. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for June were up 18, ranging from 11-03 ¼ to 11-33 ¼.

Live Cattle for June were up $.50, closing at 132.95. April Feeder Cattle were up $1.72 ½ to finish the day at 157.97 ½. April Class III milk was dn $.07 to settle at 23.82.
