Feeders Pull Back
This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Tuesday. Cattle found a bit of resistance to start the week following the new Covid Variant but not enough to shake Investors. Let’s go to Virginia McGathey with the CME Group to hear more.
Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for March closed the day dn 18, to finish at 8-22 ¼. March Corn was dn 9 ½, to close at 5-83. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for March were dn 11 ¾, to settle at 8-57 ¼.
Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 10-90 to 14-00. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Jan. were Unch, ranging from 10-77 to 11-50. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Jan. were dn 19 ¾, ranging from 10-17 ¼ to 10-52 ¼. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Jan. were up ¼, ranging from 11-45 ¼ to 11-60 ¼.
Live Cattle for Feb. were dn $1.90, closing at 139.30. Jan. Feeder cattle were dn $1.42 ½, to finish the day at 165.72 ½. Jan. Class III milk was dn $.26 to settle at 18.38.
