I’m Bob Larson. In recent months, President Biden and far-left Democrats have been focused on radically altering our country in a way that is blind to the ways of rural America and agriculture.
That’s according to U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse who says one of the policies really impacts the options for passing down the family farm …
NEWHOUSE … “Certainly the, what we call the “Death Tax” and inheritance taxes that are at such high rates are forcing farmers or survivors of farmers to liquidate parts of their farm in order to pay the taxes, thus making it very difficult for what they have left to make it a successful operation.”
Other impacts, Newhouse says are regulatory …
NEWHOUSE … “Probably the largest federal overreach of regulations in history is the Waters of the United States Rule that literally will force farmers to get federal permission to do things just as simple as changing from one crop to another because of the impact it might have, and I say MIGHT, on the regulated waters.”
So, Newhouse says we have to be as clear as possible …
NEWHOUSE … “These are things that every farmer and rancher in this country understand that are threats to their ability to operate and survive, but our urban cousins and friends just do not understand that.”
Newhouse says that is the real-world impact of these
policies and we deserve better than that.
