This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Thursday. Cattle see consolidation after the recent USDA report noting a sharp increase in beef production. Let’s go to Virginia McGathey with the CME Group to hear more on the beef market.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. closed the day dn 15 ¼, to finish at 7-18 ¾. Dec. Corn was dn 10 ¼, to close at 5-12 ¼. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Dec. were dn 18, to settle at 7-21 ¾.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein were Unch, ranging from 9-75 to 13-25. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein prices for Nov. were Unch ranging from 9-75 to 10-75. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein prices for Nov. were dn 18, ranging from 8-71 ¾ to 8-96 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Nov. were dn 6 ¼, ranging from 10-37 ¾ to 10-88 ¾.

Live Cattle for Dec. were dn $.25, closing at 129.00. Nov. Feeder cattle were dn $82 ½, to finish the day at 160.97 ½. Nov. Class III milk was up $.04 to settle at 18.85.
