It’s time for your Farm of the Future Report. I’m Tim Hammerich.

We’ve reported this week on the growing number of robotics that are hitting the market in agriculture. But ZTractor is taking things one step further. Not only do they offer a fully autonomous tractor, but it’s also fully electric. Founder and CEO Bakur Kvezereli says they’ve already commercialized their first model and are currently taking preorders for 2022.

Kvezereli… “Right now, what we have available for the pre-orders is our smallest compact tractor. And it fits berry growers, grape growers, organic vegetable growers. And this is our target at the moment.”

Kvezereli says this model meant for speciality crops is only the beginning. The company has larger models planned that will be a fit in broadacre crops as well. His customers are both farmers and rental companies that may want to offer the tractors for rent or as a service.

Kvezereli… “I see a great synergy in potentially partnering with some machinery rental companies, which can buy multiple Ztractors and they provide a service to the customers with autonomous electric tractors. One operator can take care of multiple tractors in multiple locations. So this is a great advantage for the companies which are doing robot as a service or tractor as a service.”
