This is Matt Rice with today’s Market Line Report for Thursday. Cattle moving sideways looking for direction from the cash market, despite higher boxed beef prices. Let’s go to Ted Seifried with the CME Group to hear more.

Chicago Soft Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. closed the day Unch, to finish at 7-27. Dec. Corn was up 6, to close at 5-59 ¼. Kansas City Hard Red Winter Wheat prices for Sept. were Dn 4, to settle at 7-10 ¼.

Portland prices for Club Wheat with 10 ½ % Protein was Unch to up 30, ranging from 9-05 to 11-40. Soft white wheat with 10 ½ % Protein for Oct. was Unch – up 20, ranging from 8-87 to 9-90. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11 ½ percent Protein for Oct. were DN 04, ranging from 8-32 to 8-82. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Oct. were dn 1 ¾, ranging from 10-10 ½ to 10-45 ½.

Live Cattle for Oct. were dn $.55, closing at 127.67 ½. Sept. Feeder cattle were dn $.22 ½, to finish the day at 163.00. Sept. Class III milk was dn $.04, to settle at 17.24.
