It’s time for your Farm of the Future Report. I’m Tim Hammerich.

There are so many details to keep track of on a modern farm. Traditionally, many producers use binders and notepads and spreadsheets for these details. But with so much digital information available today, an app can be very helpful for organizing information like farm maps, field work and inputs. That’s where fieldmargin comes in, says head of product Camilla Hayselden-Ashby.

Hayselden-Ashby… “It's very satisfying to be able to start using the app, map out your fields, and then within half an hour have a digital farm map, which you can access on your phone, on the computer is color coded for all your crops. And then you can think, right, I've got this as a basis. I'm ready to go. I can start adding in work and everything else flows from there.”

She says the app serves as an easy-to-use hub for keeping track of all farm activities. In fact, she uses it on her own farm.

Hayselden-Ashby… “I use the app on my family's farm, or I still work one day a week. And Mark who's, one of the co-founders of fieldmargin also comes from a farming background and decided to build fieldmargin coming from a, I guess, a similar perspective to why I joined it, of discovering that the software that was available for use on his farm, wasn't meeting the spec of what he required.”

Although based in the UK, the app is available and being utilized by farmers in the U.S. Learn more at FieldMargin.com.
