With today’s Fruit Grower Report, I’m Bob Larson. This year’s Auction of Washington Wines has loosened up as pandemic restriction scale back some.

April events like the Private Barrel Auction will be virtual. And, May events are both virtual and in-person, followed by, according to the Auction’s Jaime Peha more virtual events …

PEHA … “In June and July, we will repeat the Virtual Tasting Series with our honorary chair, Karen McNeil, author of The Wine Bible, and that was super successful last year.”

And after that, Peha says …

PEHA … “We usually have a week of events in August, typically the Private Barrel Auction, the Gala, the Picnic Event, Wine Maker Dinners, all of that is usually in a week in August.”

But, this year …

PEHA … “We will repeat the online and virtual Gala. And, in addition to that, on Gala Night, which is August 14th, we will host what we’re calling Mini Gala event. They will be anywhere from 60 to 100 people, depending on regulations.”

So, Peha says there are plenty of Auction events to look out for …

PEHA … “Information is up on our website at www.auctionofwawines.org. And, I’d say keep checking back there because we’re putting more information up every day. There people can register and join us for all of these incredible events.”

Beginning in 1988, the Auction of Washington Wines has raised more than $52-million for WSU Viticulture and Enology Research, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and the Industry Grants.
