It’s time for your Farm of the Future Report. I’m Tim Hammerich.

If the next agricultural revolution is digital, the fuel for that revolution will be data. But data must be converted into useful insights or actions in order to be valuable.

Madgavkar… “The big challenge with data is no one wants data - no farmer. They want to know insights and what should they do and recommendations. And so they want the, 'so what?'. And they're very busy and so they don't want to look at more data and interpret more data - it adds work.”

That’s Ceres Imaging CEO, Ash Madgavkar. He recently released his top predictions for agtech in 2021, one of which is that data-focused companies will emphasize usability.

Madgavkar… “The challenge that we all face is taking that raw data and refining it into something that's valuable. And then equipping our customers with the right tools to operationalize that into their field. For instance, like we have a tool that creates a report that they can print and give to someone in the field. Or we have a variable rate tool where they can export something into a tractor, a prescription. And so the actions that a farmer can take is where the value is created. And so getting really precise on those actions is the important thing.”
