PPP Rant

I’ve done dozens of stories about PPP funding with an emphasis on farmers and ranchers receiving much needed funding to keep their operations from going under as casualties from this horrible pandemic. Remember PPP Paycheck Protection Program refers to the source of money over the long-term to pay the PPP private partner for the investments, operating costs, and maintenance costs of a project such as a farm or ranch . Funding is typically sourced from taxes or from user charges refers to the source of money over the long-term to pay the PPP private partner for the investments, operating costs, and maintenance costs of the project. But PPP funds if used according to the rules means loans can be forgiven.

Another part of the governments efforts is found in stimulus checks. That is money that is supposed to go out to people who have tragically lost their jobs because of shutdowns in businesses across the country. People who have no income to pay rent, buy gasoline, pay auto loans…buy food. These people are desperate. Their are lines at food banks that are 2-3 hours long.

So here comes the punch line to my rant. I heard from a friend the other day that they received a stimulus check for $2200. Yes…they have 3 kids to support and the usual family expenses. That said, they are both working in high profile jobs with combined salaries of $260,000 per year. What imbecilic accounting method is the government using?
