With today’s Fruit Grower Report, I’m Bob Larson. Virtual wine tastings are becoming popular as wineries look for innovative ways to reach customers during these challenging

times.

A new series of seven virtual wine tastings and interviews, from the Auction of Washington Wines, runs through late August.

2020’s Honorary Auction Chair and host Karen MacNeil says these virtual tastings are for curious wine lovers everywhere …

MacNEIL … “We want people all over the United States to remember that wine is being made, grapes are growing right now, people are working in wineries, there will be a 2020 harvest, and it’s a good time actually to enjoy wine, and also a really good time to learn about wine.”

So, where can listeners find the schedule? …

MacNEIL … “The schedule is really easy to find. It’s on https://winespeed.com/ . Wine Speed is full of really fun facts about wine. You can read it very quickly. But, every week on Wine Speed there is a schedule of all the live, virtual tastings to come that week and also to come over the next series of weeks.”

MacNeil says the Zoom sign up is easy …

MacNEIL … “And, with the Washington series you can very easily, with just on click of the mouse, sign up for all of them. So, that’s the thing to do. If you click on the Zoom link it will allow you to sign up for all of them.”

The next virtual tasting, from Generation to Generation, is this Thursday, July 2nd at 4-o’clock, with John Bookwalter, Caleb Foster, Rob Mercer, and Andrew Januik, all from winemaking families.

Listen tomorrow for more.
