Northeast Colorado harvesting alfalfa for haylage. Drought conditions continue in southwest Colorado. Southeast Colorado has been harvesting and baling 1st cutting alfalfa and triticale for hay. Drought conditions in that region continue with scattered showers offering little relief. The Mountains and Northwest Colorado regions have still had little moisture adding to concerns on yields of meadow grass. The US Drought Monitor says temperatures from 3 to 12 degrees above normal were common in eastern Colorado. In southeast Colorado, extreme drought expanded, as short-term precipitation deficits continued to worsen amid high evaporative demand.
