The COVID-19 pandemic has forced farmers, ranchers and all agriculture producers to rethink the way they work and do business. The Department of Agriculture’s Colorado Proud division is using a virtual roundtable to highlight what some producers are doing to succeed during this tough time.

White:”It’s really designed around this idea of adaptability and how agriculture can succeed in tough times. This difficult time we’ve been experiencing has shown how innovative and resilient farmers and ranchers and the agriculture industry really is. We hope to share those positive stories with our panel discussion so others can hear what it took for a smaller food retailer to still provide local food to their customers. And farmers markets and how they’ve had to adapt and change their model a little bit to meet consumer needs during this difficult time and how we can persevere and hopefully make things better on the other side.”

That’s Wendy White Colorado Proud Marketing Specialist who will moderate the discussion on June 3rd.

Colorado’s Commissioner of Agriculture Kate Greenberg will be joined for the discussion by Duke Phillips of Ranchlands, Peter Marczyk of Marczyk’s Fine Foods and Rosalind May, Executive Director of the Colorado Farmers Markets Coalition. This is first in a series of planned virtual roundtables.

The roundtable will be June 3rd at 4pm. The discussion will focus on ag producers, marketers and Colorado Proud members but is open to anyone. RSVP is required. Find the link at www.Coloradoproud.org.
