United Fresh Live!
While agriculture is of course an essential industry, many activities that serve the industry have been affected by COVID-19. Meetings and conferences, for example have been postponed or cancelled.
The United Fresh Produce Association planned to host an in-person event in San Diego this coming June, but is instead moving the event to a new free virtual event called United Fresh Live!
Tom Stenzel is the association’s President and CEO. He had a chance to explain the event to California Ag Today’s Patrick Cavanaugh.
Stenzel… “So this is the same time period that we would've had our in-person convention in San Diego. So the next best thing to being there is being live online. We're going to have keynote speakers, small group discussion settings. We're going to have an expo hall where our exhibitors can have a virtual booth with video, with a lot of information, with the ability to talk with other attendees. I think people are going to be really pleased when you get there and you see online the ability to connect with each other very similar the way we do at conventions.”
United Fresh Live will debut the week of June 15th of this year to connect customers, suppliers, and colleagues across the fresh produce industry. For more information visit www.UnitedFreshLive.org.
