This year, the Idaho Farm Bureau 2020 Legislative Conference takes members from conference room to the State House. They'll walk the halls, talk to lawmakers and see where state government happens.

Idaho Farm Bureau Legislative Affairs Director Russ Hendricks. “We really wanted to emphasize a couple of important things this year. First of all, we would like our members to be able to visualize the process and really know how laws are made here at the state. And then secondly, we wanted to make sure that they would be able to rub shoulders with legislators and hopefully even make a connection with their own legislators while they're here at the Capitol.”

For the Idaho Farm Bureau the benefits are endless.

“It's really important for legislators to be reminded that when we're at the state House, we are representing eighty thousand families in Idaho that live and work in each of their districts.”

And it's a hands on experience that will benefit members.

“Until you've actually been there and seen it with your own eyes, it’s really just kind of a vague process. But it really helps our members to visualize and to see how things work. This really illustrates the grass roots aspect of our organization and how important it is to us.”

This will be on Tuesday, February the 11th. In the afternoon, we'll be at the Capitol all afternoon.
