The Environmental Protection Agency's administrator in the nation's capital with an announcement regarding the federal Clean Water Act's waters of the United States rule.
"EPA and the Army are officially repealing the 2015 definition." EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler says the repeal of WOTUS is step one of a two part process. "Step two are proposed revised definition of waters of the United States". With plans to finalize a revised WOTUS definition by winter and public comment to follow. Among those applauding the repeal, the American Farm Bureau Federation and its president, Zippy Duvall. "We welcome the opportunity to get rid of this old rule and take our time and make sure we develop a new rule that gives us clear rules so that we have clean water.
And Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue in a statement calling the repeal a win for American agriculture.
