Taste Washington Wine Month Pt 2
With today's Fruit Grower Report, I'm Bob Larson. If vintages could be narrowed down to the month, March would be the best for Washington wine lovers with a fine blend of celebrations throughout the month.Washington Wine's Heather Bradshaw says a steady diet of wine and food events throughout the month lead up to the big event, the Grand Tasting weekend March 22nd through 25th ...
BRADSHAW ... "The Grand Tasting is still held at Century Link Field, but we have events happening all throughout the weekend."
Bradshaw says the events will be held at different restaurants, hotels and wineries ...
BRADSHAW ... "The Red and White Party is at Aqua by El Goucho. We have the On the Farms Tour which are really cool small events, private events which take people to local farms for a great experience with food and wine. That's happening on Friday during the day. And, then Friday night is the new vintage which is happening at Fischer Pavilion which is a new location. And, then Saturday we have the seminars happening which are really fantastic educational experience at the Four Seasons Hotel. And, then the Grand Tasting during the day on Saturday and Sunday, both."
Bradshaw says Washington's wine industry just continues to grow and expand across the state, in places like the Yakima Valley and in Walla Walla ...
BRADSHAW ... "There's 120 wineries in Walla Walla now and over, you know, 940 wineries in the state so we just keep growing."
This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Taste Washington celebration.
