The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) recently participated in Anuga (uh-new-guh), a biennial food trade show held in Cologne, Germany that attracts importers, exporters and food industry companies from more than 100 countries.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation President, Dan Halstrom, explains the show was a great opportunity for America to show off what it has to offer.

"It's one of the u.s. is the largest opportunities in the EU Market which was on display really at the food show was the US Beef business. We have a very high-end Niche business and into the EU and high-quality grain-fed beef in the US and it's also some of the most expensive beef that comes into Europe but there is Adam and it's growing"

And Halstrom says - Anuga was not all about the beef industry.

"Same thing on the Pork side. A very strong the influence from the Europeans on the Pork side, the German pork, Spanish Pork excetera over all the new experience was a very good display, not only the competition but the opportunities going forward"

He says, USMEF was able to take advantage of the diverse audience. Discussions with buyers and importers revealed that demand for U.S. red meat products remains high, despite ongoing challenges with pricing and trade issues.
