Cooperative Seeks Ranchers To Join
Country Natural Beef is a cooperative that began 30 years ago in Oregon and has expanded throughout the West. To meet the production practices of the co-op, animals must have not been given any antibiotics nor hormones and the cattle need to be Global Animal Partnership certified.CNB Marketing Director Stacy Davies says that the cooperative is actively seeking new participants throughout the West.
Davies: "One of the most unique things about Country Natural Beef is it allows us as ranchers to really connect with retail customers and consumers at that level. So as ranchers we do demos in the stores. We have meetings where we meet with retailers and we host them on our ranches for tours. We really connect with that end user allowing us to tell our story and connect it with product they can buy. As co-op, we expect our ranchers to meet those production practices I described, as well as attend meetings, host ranch tours, visit retailers, and be part of a group that really wants to build long term sustainability to the ranching community."
Davies says the cooperative actively works with those who may have differing views and opinions to try and find solutions.
Davies: "We're a solution-oriented group of ranchers that really want our ranches to be in the same family for six or seven eight generations into the future. So whether it be the financial component, the social component, the environment component we find answers and solutions to those problem by working with people."
