This is your Northwest report for Monday, November 14, I'm David Sparks and presidential hopeful, now out of the picture Hillary Clinton said she didn't want it. President-elect Donald Trump, in a very rare agreement with his adversary, also said he didn't want it. We are talking about the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Agriculture, however, seems to have been in favor all this time. And it turns out, the results of the election haven't changed one of the top policy priorities for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. They want to pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and quickly. NCBA's Colin Woodall told agri-pulse.com's Spencer Chase at the National Association of Farm Broadcasting in Kansas City that he wants to get the deal passed before Trump gets inaugurated. "His comments as a candidate were very concerning to us with regards to TPP because for us, as a cattle industry, TPP was our number one issue and remains our number one issue. In fact we hope to get it done before he even comes in as president. We are telling everybody it is now or never. If we don't get it done by Christmas, we probably won't have the opportunity to get it done." Woodall does say that getting before Congress with this issue, however, is no done deal. "No commitments yet and that is something that we feel we need to still pressure them on. We are not giving up on TPP by any means."
