I'm Bob Larson. We told you yesterday about the FFA chapter from Yelm that won the 'Model of Excellence" Award as the nation's top chapter ...

MATT MOUNTS ... "Yes, it's weird. It's the center of the universe, I tell ya."

Yelm FFA Advisor Matt Mounts says his Yelm chapter wasn't the only award winner from the Evergreen State. Washington was very well represented ...

MATT MOUNTS ... "Oh, very well represented. We were very proud of all the awards that happened. Omak won Models of Innovation in their area and their advisor used the teach here at Yelm so there's definitely a 'Yelm Connection' in a lot of that stuff."

MICHAELA WALKER-RISE UP = segment of song ...

Michela Walker is an FFA member at Decatur High School in Federal Way and she won the talent competition at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. She tells the NAFB her singing began at an early age ...

MICHELA WALKER ... "I was about 4 years old. I was singing in the church choir, Sunshine Band actually, and ever since then I've been singing. My mom and her sisters did a lot of traveling and singing so I would go with them on the different trips and that's just kind of how I got started."

Other winners include Caleb McMillan of Wilson Creek FFA won the Naitonal Horse Proficiency Award.
