You may recall yesterday's Northwest report looked back at August when Sec. of Agriculture Tom Vilsack tried to give the dairy industry a shot in the arm by purchasing 11,000,000 pounds of cheese said to be valued at $20 million. The cheese was destined for places like local food banks through USDA nutrition assistance programs. The reduction in surplus was designed to help struggling dairy farmers across the country. We then reported that according to Dave Kurzawski, a dairy analyst with FC Stone "Dairy farm profit margins are really looking good for 2017." But late yesterday, I received a call from Rick Naerbout who is the son of the Idaho Dairymen's Association Executive Dir. Bob Naerbout. Rick was optimistic, but very cautiously optimistic and here is why. "There is definite optimism among the producers in hoping to see good margins in 2017 but the one thing I would caution people about is to not forget that we have large inventories of cheese and butter powder that need to be chewed through so it might be a little bit premature to get very excited about 2017 margins."

Elsewhere, according to the Daily Beast, Teresa Barnwell has been a Hillary Clinton impersonator for 23 years. After Clinton (the real one) appeared to faint outside of the 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan on Sunday, last Sunday then reappeared hours later outside of her daughter's apartment appearing much healthier, Internet conspiracy theorists thought she was using a body double—and they were certain it was Barnwell.
