Potatoes USA's Global Marketing Manager Travels

With a title of Global Marketing Manager — it's only appropriate that Potatoes USA employee Ross Johnson has already been traveling internationally with a little more than two months under his belt. He shares

Johnson: "Well I've been diving in headfirst, just trying to learn more about the produce industry. I started off a few days with Nielsen Perishables Group where they gave me a 101 training on the produce category — it was obviously more honed in on potatoes. I was able to participate in a Food Show in Shanghai — which last for three days. It was a great experience to see the reach of U.S. potatoes and the value that people put into United States potato and the quality and size compared to what they grow locally in China. I was also able to spend some time in Taiwan visiting that market and learning more about the opportunities that we have there. I also just participated in the West Coast Produce Expo in Palm Springs which was a great experience. I was able to meet various growers and shippers. It's been a whirlwind tour."
