Wheat College

Wheat College

Wheat College. I'm Greg Martin with Washington Ag Today.

It won't be long now until the wheat will be waving in the sun but before things heat up too much, Lori Williams with the Washington Association of Wheat Growers says you should plan to attend the AMMO: Wheat College.

WILLIAMS: Wheat College is our annual indoor and outdoor educational seminar that we put on for our growers. It is free to everyone this year, you don't have to be a WAWG member. It's going to be held on June 29th in the Davenport area both on the Wilke Farm and at the Memorial Hall and our featured speaker is Dr. Elaine Ingham, she's with the OSU Plant Protection Center and we're also partnering with WSU at the Wilke Farm to do some outdoor, educational opportunities.

Williams says any wheat producers should attend.

WILLIAMS: We do encourage our membership as well as other wheat growers in the area to attend but it also looks like we're attracting other researchers and maybe some conservation folks and just people in the ag industry in general.

Registration is easy.

WILLIAMS: You can call our office and we'll just get your name on the list. The first 100 individuals to RSVP will receive a 2.5 gallons of Roundup from our sponsors, Wilbur Ellis, Helena Chemical and Ag Week. We also have Syngenta sponsoring some random door prizes throughout the event.

Get on the list today and make plans to attend.

And that's Washington Ag Today. I'm Greg Martin, thanks for listening on the Ag Information Network of the West.
