With the smile of a world champion, Matt Paradis came home to Council last week to meet and greet his fans. Paradis number 61 is the starting center for the Super Bowl champion, Denver Broncos. He got his start playing eight man football at Council high school. His hometown friends and fans of all ages showed up at the party. The Hatfield boys, Owen and is Wyatt were two very excited fans who got their shirts signed by the champion football player. they said he was their hero. "Because he won the Super Bowl with his team. because he tried his best to be the best player he could be."

Others showed up with the now famous number 61 jersey seeking the autograph of the man who wears it. Sitting next to 91-year-old grandmother Margaret Renwick, Matt took it all in stride.

State legislators read a resolution making its way through the process of the 2016 Idaho legislature honoring the miracle story and success of the kid from Council, Idaho. Population, just over 800 people. "Matt comes from a long line of hard-working Idahoans. His father Mike is longtime logger and rancher in the Council area and is presently an Adams County Commissioner and his mother Janice is an elementary school teacher in town Council. Now let it be resolved by the members of the second regular session of the 63rd Idaho legislature, the House of Representatives and the Senate honor Matt Paradis for his hard work and congratulate him on his Super Bowl championship as the starting center for the Denver Broncos.'
