Welcome to Vine to Wine, this is your host Linda Moran. As many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine that is in my glass at the time. Because I simply do not drink wine that I don't like. This summer I have been drinking a wine that I think is very special because it is so different and to me such an unexpected blend. It is made by a Washington winery by the name of Thurston-Wolfe.
BREAK
There is a winery near Prosser Washington that although it is small in the sense that it only producers about 3 thousand cases of wine it is big on talent! All of the wines are very good and I would recommend that you seek them out. But this summer a local restaurant in Washington Wine Country has been featuring one of the most delicious white wines that I have ever had. It is an unusual blend of Pinot Gris and Viognier. Not a combination that you find often, But the winemaker did a masterful job of combining the two. The perfume of the Viognier is not over- powered by the Pinot Gris as I had expected. Instead they seem to combine in a pleasant synergistic sort of way that compels you to keep sniffing through it. The light crisp and lovely texture of the wine seems to please everyone that I have encouraged to try it. And although I don't know where it can be found outside of this restaurant I am going to contact the winery to find out and I encourage you to do the same. Bravo to you Thurston Wolfe, and to winemaker Wade Wolfe, for producing a creative and impressive wine. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to ine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's vine to wine.
