Weekly Cattle Report
I'm Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for Jan 4th. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Due to the holidays there was no report on the National Weekly Cattle review last week, so let's take a look back at the previous week's cattle report with Gregg Sanders.Sanders- "National Weekly Cattle review, Thursday 2015. On Thursday negotiated cash trade and demand was moderate in the northern Plains. Nebraska compared to last week, live sales sold mostly to a dollar lower from $1.15 to $1.17. Compared to Wednesday dress sales sold steady from $1.83 to $1.84. In Colorado, compared to last week live sales sold steady at $1.17. In Kansas, trade was light to moderate on moderate demand with sales mostly steady also at $1.17."
Chicago March Wheat ended last week steady around 473. March corn ended last week sound at 372. Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein for Jan, were around that 4-79 to 5-45 mark. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for Dec. were up slightly, ranging from 5-22 to 5-62 3/4. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Dec. held firm, ranging from 6-10 to 6-40. Dec. live cattle closed last week around the 125.60 mark. Jan. Feeder cattle still looking for some gains but held solid at 157.90. Jan. class III milk was up around 13-41.
