Weekly Feeder Cattle Summary
I'm Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for Monday, October 19th. Cattle trending higher with good demand over the weekend, developing a better market for feedlots to hedge on. Gregg Sanders goes over the National Feeder Cattle Summary sharing from last week's livestock market.Sanders- "Thank you and good morning everyone, here's the northwest direct feeder cattle summary for WA, OR, & ID for Friday oct. 16th, Friday 2015. This week for receipts we had 2150 head, compared to last Friday. Feeder cattle were $68 higher in a light test. Trade would remain slow with good demand as a higher CME market."
Chicago December Wheat ended last week down 10 1/4, at 494 1/4. December corn ended last week up 1 1/4, at 377 1/2. Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein for October, were down 10 1/4, ranging from 5-22 1/4 to 5-59 even. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11½ % protein prices for October were down 12 3/4, ranging from 5-93 1/2 to 6-03 1/2. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for October were down 11 1/4, ranging from 6-27 1/4 to 6-52 1/4. October live cattle closed last week up $3.00, at 135.95. October Feeder cattle were up $3.85, at 193.62 1/2. October class III milk was down 8 cents, at 15-60.
