Beef Counts Program Making a Difference

Today there is a mobile food distribution happening in Spokane — Washington ranchers are on hand to distribute food which includes nutritious, high quality beef. Throughout the summer Washington’s Beef Community in partnership with Rosauer’s promoted the Beef Counts program. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, ten cents from every pound of St Helen’s Premium Angus Beef sold at Rosauer’s went to the Beef Counts Program. Washington State Beef Commission Director of Channel Marketing Rob Noel shares the exciting results of the program.
Noel: “A presentation that we are going to give — a Beef Counts check for over $20,000 today to Second Harvest. They can use all of the funds to continue to provide beef to food banks to help our neighbors in need.”
Noel continues with the difference the Beef Counts program has made
Noel: “It’s been going since 2010 — and since that time — the Beef Counts program has raised (including what has happened over this summer) it has raised $459,000 which in turn has provided over 750,000 beef meals to local families.”
Noel adds that AgriBeef’s contribution has been critical to the program’s success.
Noel: “It is due to AgriBeef as the main partner. They process everything for free and they handle the transportation and shipping logistics to Second Harvest. They are just huge behind the scenes.”
