Results of the E85 Promotion

So the Colorado Corn, Gas Station and Convenience Store Kum & Go and Front Range Energy’s recent six week promotion E85 — an American-made biofuel — recently ended. Colorado Corns Director of Communication Eric Brown shares the results of the promotion that were very beneficial.
Brown: “We did 8500 gallons all together at the six events. So just 1400 just a little under 1500 gallons per event. Each of these events were just a few hours long so you go through 1400 or 1500 gallons on average at each at these event — at what would be at just a few of hours. We had a lot of people coming through, and a lot of good conversations and really enjoyed ourselves.”
An additional positive element of the promotion was to help drivers of flex-fuel cars that they had the option to use E85.
Brown: “More than 200,000 flex-fuel vehicles are on the roads in Colorado. Only about 30 percent of the drivers of flex-fuel vehicles — even though they have a flex-fuel vehicles and don’t know about E85 so really this was an effort to talk to the drivers. A lot of people came up in flex-fuel vehicles and had no idea that they drove flex-fuel vehicles or didn’t realize that they did until they heard the promotions on the radio and saw the flex-fuel insignia on the back of the vehicle or on the gas cap.”
