Wilder is a small town with about 100 kids in the high school, a rural community with deep roots in agriculture. One time dairy farmer Dennis Lincoln is a product of that culture. My name is Dennis Lincoln. I run the scoreboard and I am the announcer for Wilder High School basketball. Dennis Lincoln is carrying on a family tradition of community payback.

I have been at a Wilder game ever since 1972. That's 42 years of family tradition. Back in 1972 my father started keeping stats for the boys team at Wilder and in the late 70s started announcing• the boys basketball games. I started in 1997 announcing girls basketball games and after my father's passing in 2008 I took over announcing both the boys and girls games.

He is what you call cheap help. My pay is what I can eat and drink during the game.

Some might wonder why Lincoln is so dedicated. I just love to contribute back to my community and my school. My father had a saying give back what has been given to you. Lincoln says running the clock is a stress reliever from dairy farming
