Wheat and Corn Slightly Higher Monday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for November 11, 2014.
USDA reports were released on Monday and found U.S. wheat stocks decrease by 10 million bushels but the world ending stocks were a bit higher. From the floor of the CME Group Alexandra Lively shares her observations of Monday’s markets.
Lively: “Well, the highly anticipated USDA report has been released. Now corn was initially unchanged from the prices in the green prior to the report. And wheat futures saw a bit of a bounce before trading off of those highs. For wheat though, some traders I just spoke with said that U.S. ending stocks appear somewhat friendly which could be the reason for the initial bounce higher but with the ample world supplies and current U.S. prices this could continue to pressure U.S. wheat prices.
Chicago December Wheat ended Monday up 2 and 3/4 cents at 5-17 and 1/4. December corn ended the day up 1 and 3/4 cents at 3-69 and 1/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were up 2 and 3/4 cents at mostly 6-87 and 1/2. White club wheat prices were up 2 and 3/4 cents at mostly 9-33 and 3/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were mixed down 1 and 1/4 to up 3 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-24. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 8 cents at mostly 8-99 and 1/4.
