App for Ranchers
Most ranchers I know spend more time in their pickup than in their office. I’m always looking for new apps that can make a rancher’s life easier. I recently learned about the CattleFax app for either smart phones or tablets.
CattleFax CEO Randy Blach shares more about his organization’s app
Blach: “We developed a tool several months ago. CattleFax developed an app. That app was the result of our producers saying, ‘We’re on the go all the time. We’re not sitting in our office. We are not behind our computers. We’re on the go. Our smart phones are our computers. Can you give us a tool?’ So we went to work and in conjunction with Zoetis, we produced an app that is called the CattleFax App. You can get at the Google Play Store or the Apple Store. It’s been a tremendous success. There is about 75,000 people that have downloaded the app or are using the app. You can get all kinds of fundamental market information, quotes, etc. Most importantly — it’s free.”
