I don’t know about you, but one of the great disappointments in life is going into a grocery store, seeing a big, beautiful or delicious looking apple, making a purchase of said apple and then, upon biting into it, it turns out to be soggy, or in the words of Dr. Kate Evans, from the apple breeding program at Washington State University, mealey. That’s when it all kind of falls apart a bit. With all of that said, I asked… So you have invented a new apple correct? I don’t think I can say that I have but the program has, it's not the right word to say invented, but certainly you can say that we have bred and selected a new apple. It is a very attractive, fairly dark red, it is very crisp and juicy, it has a good level of tartness and sweetness and one of the best things about it as far as I can see is that it has the ability to maintain that quality throughout long term storage, so it will be consistent in its quality pretty much at any point that the consumer purchases and eats the fruit. When it is merely, So with all of the talk about maintaining its freshness and crispness, the name of the Apple is Cosmic Crisp, correct? Yes
