I’m Lacy Gray with Washington Ag Today.

The Washington Farm Labor Association understands that summer is a busy time for producers that’s why WAFLA switches training over to the more convenient webinars beginning in late June. WAFLA’s Dan Fazio.

FAZIO: Starting late June every Tuesday from 11:00 am until noon it is webinar hour for us here at WAFLA. Basically what we’re talking about is a one hour training session with an expert where you get to ask questions and we send you a nice summary document along with a recording of the webinars so that you can get back and re-listen to the sessions whenever you like.

Fazio explains that there are themes planned for the webinars.

FAZIO: The first series we have is all about the Affordable Health Care Act or Obama Care as we like to call it. We’ve got three sessions planned starting Tuesday, June 24 at 11:00 am and July 1 and July 8. We’ll have an overview of the law by the CPA’s at Moss Adams LLP. And then on July 1 John Hickey of MCM, which is one of the premiere brokerages for agricultural employers, will be talking about health care products and programs that are working for seasonal employers. And finally on Tuesday, July 8 Bob Gardner of Freedom Care will talk to you about a turnkey program that they’ve developed that gives you all the coverage that you need as a seasonal employer under the affordable care act for less than $100 per month for covered employee.

So, if you have fifty employees or more you don’t want to miss this WAFLA three part webinar series. For more information on these and other WAFLA webinar series that are planned throughout the summer be sure to visit www.wafla.org.

That’s Washington Ag Today.
