Today - there are 2.2-million farms in America - and 95-percent of those are family-owned. The average farm size is 413 acresBut industry experts say it takes farms of all sizes to produce food and maintain the quality of life Americans enjoy. Farmer Bruce Rominger owns and runs his large-scale farm with his brother and their farm could be considered a farm corporation... a production agriculture operation. Of course, that concept flies in the face of the locavore movement that has taken over so much of American agricultural purchasing habits. Rominger says that is not correct. Irrespective of the size of his operation, it is a family farm. "We are a family farm. Even though we would be considered a large farm or a factory farm, we don't see it that way. I am a fifth generation in this County farming this land and we look at it as our family farm. We look at it as something we would like to bring to the next generation and take good care of it so it goes on. That is the way I feel about our family farm."
