Wheat Flat on the Day

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for December 10, 2013.

March wheat closed slightly lower on the day Monday and down 7 cents from the overnight highs. Ideas that winterkill issues will not be known until harvest and that US export news remains sluggish helped to pressure. In addition, traders see the Canada data from last week as a possible reason for the USDA report out today to carry a negative tilt helped to pressure. From the floor of the CME Group, Frank Lesh shares his observations of Monday's markets.

Lesh: "Monday's trade in grains today we had higher markets for the most part. March corn was up 3 cents, January beans was up 13 cents and wheat was flat on the day."

Chicago March Wheat ended Monday down 3/4 of a cent at 6-50 and 1/2. March corn ended the day up 3 and 3/4 cents at 4-38.??Portland prices for soft white white were down a 1/2 of a cent at mostly 7-15 and 1/2. White club wheat prices were down a 1/2 of a cent at mostly 7-40 and 1/2. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were were up 1/2 of a cent at mostly 7-93. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 4 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-13 and 3/4.

?February live cattle were up 20 cents Monday at 133-05. January Feeder cattle were up 67 and half cents at 165-15. January class III milk was up 14 cents at 18-69.
