Wheat Markets Down

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for November 18, 2013.

December wheat closed 1/4 of a cent lower on the day Friday and 5 1/2 cents lower for the week. The market was lower for the 4th week in a row. From the floor of the CME Group, Frank Lesh shares his observations of Friday's markets.

Lesh: "Friday's trade December corn was down 4 cents and down 4 cents for the week. We had December wheat was flat on Friday and down about 5 cents as well. Europe expecting to expand wheat production by about 4 percent. Chinese purchases are slowed. Brazilian wheat demand has been rising and remains strong. Winter wheat right now in the U.S. is rated 65 percent good to excellent."

Chicago December Wheat ended Friday down a 1/4 of a cent at 6-44 and 1/2. December corn ended the day down 4 and 1/2 cents at 4-22.??Portland prices for soft white white were down a 1/4 of a cent at mostly 7-03 and 1/2. White club wheat prices were down a 1/4 of a cent at mostly 7-28 and 1/2. Bids for Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein were not available for November delivery. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 3 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-23 and 3/4.

?December live cattle were up 42 and half cents Friday at 133-40. January Feeder cattle were up 62 and half cents at 165-82 and half. December class III milk down 12 cents at 17-98.
