Double R Bull Sale

I’m KayDee Gilkey and welcome to Open Range. Here’s Greg with today’s report.

Thanks KayDee. The upcoming Double R Sale will once again feature some of the best bulls and a bit more according to Kent Clark, Double R Ranch Manager.

CLARK: We’re offering 2-year old Angus bulls again like we have in the past and then we have some semi-angus yearling bulls that are from the 7Up herd that we purchased from the Anderson’s but there is smaller offering from them. The format is similar to last year

By that Clark means it is an online sale instead of the traditional auction.

CLARK: We’re going to have a preview so people can go and look the bulls over at their own schedule and also we’ll have a person there for a few days to go through bulls with them and then the actual sale format they can sit in their living room if they want to or where ever and bid on them on the internet so they don’t have to travel.

It is a very effective way to sell bulls but there is a part of me that likes the excitement of a live sale.

CLARK: The sale will actually start on the 25th of November online and you can bid on bulls up through the 2nd of December. They all have a beginning price you can open the bid on. At 2pm Mountain time on the 2nd the bidding will close for a couple of hours and then the live bidding will start at 4pm. We’ll just go through one bull at a time and they’ll take bids on them.
