Wheat Lower Under Pressure
I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for September 23, 2013.On Friday the market traded sharply lower on the day into the mid-session and gave back all of Thursday's gains and more. Weakness in the other grains and a lack of support from outside markets helped to pressure the market. From the floor of the CME Group, Greg Wagner shares his observations of Friday's markets.
Wagner: "Friday's grain trade you see pressure across the board corn, soybeans, wheat -- everything closing under pressure and near the session lows. Now going into next week given the fact that we ended on a sour note there is going to be a question as to how much follow through we get before we start getting traction here."
Chicago December Wheat ended Friday down 10 and 3/4 cents at 6-46 and 1/4. December corn ended the day down 8 and 1/2 cents at 4-51.??Portland prices for soft white wheat were down 5 and 3/4 to 7 cents at mostly 6-97 and 1/2.
