Wind energy. Is it viable, reliable and something in our future?

"I know that there has been a concern that wind energy is expensive. The other concern I have heard is that it takes away from the beautification of the land. But as we have seen up here, I think it fits into the landscape okay." That is Representative Julie VanOrden of Pingree during a recent tour by Idaho legislators of an operating windmill in Power County Idaho. "There are two sides to every story and coming out here gave me a different side of the story. I have never been up to see these wind turbines close. That is why I came. I wanted to see them and I wanted to see the pros and cons and listen to the companies themselves and hear their side of the story." So you are a farmer, and you decide to have someone or yourself install a huge windmill or wind turbine. Does someone else have the right to tell you that you should not put up an eyesore like that? Or whatever other reason someone might think of to object to your use of your land? "I think it is a matter of personal property rights. Any discussion of personal property rights will include windfarms some way, somehow."
